Media Framework License and Price Changes

in

After much thought and feedback, we have decided to change the license offerings for our ActionScript Media Framework. As of today, we are removing the compiled only version of the product and introducing multiple site licenses based on entity size.

The new license model:

  • $99 - Individual
  • $350 - Small Business (2 - 20 employees)
  • $895 - Midsize Business (21 -50 employees)
  • $1895 - Large Business (51+ employees)

Clean Media Framework Documentation online and in the AS2 1.1.68 and AS3 1.1.84 release

in

We updated all the ActionScript Media Framework documentation on the site today along with all the documentation in the product downloads. Though we put out a new release, nothing really changed but the docs and those changes were simple. We removed all uncommented private/protected class properties from the documentation. This makes reading the documentation less of a headache since its less clutter.

Solution: Cartoon Network and Jetstream Video Gallery

Our site has a solutions section that showcases sites and applications where we have used our media framework in the past. In a way it provides a glimpse into the legacy and evolution of the framework. Unfortunately it doesn't paint the entire picture, as our largest and most notable solutions haven't been posted due client PR departments. Sometimes we get a break, mind sets change and we get the privilege to show them out of the blue. Today was one of those days when PR mindset changed.

Introducing the Dreamsocket Media Player

in

We decided that sooner than later we would start throwing the UI elements into our Media framework. It seemed logical to give you a "face" of what you can do with our framework in a short amount of time. I also wanted to show that we eat our own dog food since we needed our own player for tutorial videos, video captures of apps, and showing things off in general. So, after a few hours of playing around and porting some existing controls, we created our branded Dreamsocket player. It's got a little Hulu influence, some MTV in there too, and twisted out at the end with some good ole Dreamsocket love. Check the scrubber tooltip fancy, collapsing controls, and more! Simple and fun, best of all you can use it for FREE!

Presenting Dreamsocket Media Framework Tomorrow Night

in

I will presenting our media framework tomorrow night at the Flash Platform meeting.

The general outline of the presentation is to talk about our client work history, run through the framework, talk about what we are working on, and basically field questions and get input from folks.

Anyone that is interested please come out. The presentation will hopefully give you insight on what we have done and the field in general.
